Acne Treatment – About Me | My Struggle
Acne Personal Story
My Honest Experience with Acne Treatments
Welcome to my web site. Below is a story on my 15 plus years of experience on acne.
At age 14, I started to get many blackheads on my nose. This is the beginning of my acne Struggle. By the age of 16, I consistently had breakouts on my chin, cheeks, and forehead. I got blackheads and whiteheads almost every 3 weeks.
In high school, I went through the embarrassment with post acne marks. I spent countless hours covering up my blemishes and treating my pimples.
I tried every topical treatment in pharmacy. I used Proactive, OXY-10, Clearasil, etc. They barely controlled my acne. It usually came back within a week. From my experience, if you fix the root of your acne problem (on the inside) and then the outside, you will save a lot of money.
Acne Memories from Teenage to Adulthood
In high school, I stayed home most of the time. I had low self esteem due to acne. When I had a breakout, I would wash my face 4 to 5 times a day.
In my college years, my face became extremely oily. I had acne breakout every 2 weeks. It affected my relationship with my friends and my boyfriend. I was not comfortable with my appearance. I could not fully express myself.
With acne I felt trapped in my own skin. I was too self conscious to face the world. I tried to avoid people so I do not have to face embarrassment. You end up giving up on the best things in life and important opportunities.
Dermatologist Misconception on acne treatment
My doctor had me on Accutane and RetinA. After a few months I stop having weekly breakouts! First time in my life, I felt beautiful about myself.
I learned that spending money on dermatologists, and expensive products were too costly. Nothing they offered me addressed acne prevention.
Many health professionals can only treat your syndrome. They do not not address the root cause of acne problems. They sold a drug or product that would temporary treat your syndrome. They can never cure me. I had to depend on treatments for my entire life!
Side Effects from Acne Prescription Medications
Accutane gave me some nasty side effects which damaged my liver. My hair was also thinning. I also had random nose bleeds. Once I went off it, and my acne returned worst than before.
Retin A Cream helped reduce my pimples somewhat. I dried it out. My face looked uncommonly red and irritated.
My Best Acne Treatment Regimen
How to Clear Acne – My Personal Secret
My most notable regimen included cutting sugar and fat out of my diet. I ate more natural green vegetables. I drank 5 to 6 glasses of water a day. Water kept my skin hydrated and help flush out harmful toxins. I used light weight facial cleanser (ex. cetaphil facial cleanser) to unclog pores and diminish skin irritation.
P.S. I also recommend “2% salicylic acid facial peel” every 4 weeks. Salicylic acid helps lighten post acne scars and discolorations. It also unclogs pores. It is highly effective against blackheads and whiteheads.
My skin problem was never cured. I still get occasional breakouts (1 to 2 pimples once every few months). I learned to treat my breakouts with healthy diets throughout my years.
A healthy diet can maximize your body functions. It can detoxify harmful toxins. It can balance your hormones, and suppress acne causing toxins. It can lower stress and depression. Your body becomes healthy. Your immune system can combat acne bacteria at peak level. Your skin will become healthy. Your aging process will also slow down.

What I learned from Mike Walden (Acne No More EBook)
Best Book for Getting Rid of Acne Fast
I just want to mention that the book by Mike Walden (Acne No More) mentioned tremendously on how to control pimple using holistic diets. It mentioned everything on how to balance your hormones and flush out your toxins. Vitamins and natural supplements were also mentioned to help combat pimples. The book is remarkably easy to read.
Poor hygiene is not a leading cause of breakout. Breakouts are triggered by a combination of dead skin cells and oil underneath the skin. Thereby, it is impossible to wash way. It is still necessary to wash the surface of your skin. This will lessen the risk of spreading acne bacteria on your face.
Finally, just remember you can prevent acne ! Start your healthy acne diet today and take control of your self esteem!
